Recruiting a Master’s student (Fall 2024) to join a collaborative project to improve the representation of C4 photosynthesis in ecosystem and Earth system models. The student will conduct research to incorporate and evaluate different representations of C4 photosynthesis in the Community Land Model, including model development to update C4 photosynthesis code. The student will also work as a Teaching Assistant (TA) during the academic year.
Desired qualifications may include (not all required): 1) BS degree in ecology, environmental science, Earth system science, or similar; 2) strong programming skills (R, Python, Fortran); 3) knowledge of photosynthesis physiology; and/or 4) experience using photosynthesis models.
The student will join Dr. Danica Lombardozzi’s lab in the Ecosystem Science and Sustainability Department at Colorado State University and will receive training in global change research and ecophysiological modeling. There are opportunities to collaborate with a network of researchers through the Powell Center C4 Photosynthesis Working Group.
The position start date is flexible, beginning May – August 2024 and will include tuition and stipend.
